Abstract
The purpose of this study is to propose an optimum passive control design method for reinforced concrete structure with hysteretic damper subjected to strong earthquake motions. In this paper, peak values and weighted root mean square values of transfer function of equivalent linear system are investigated to find out optimum damper parameters which effect maximum response displacements.Proposed equations for estimating optimum damper parameters are verified by parametric nonlinear time history analyses.
