Abstract
The crystallization process of α-Fe nanocrystalline was studied by atom probe field microscopy, transmission electron microscopy and high resolution electron microscopy. It was found that the primary crystallization of α-Fe phase proceeded through nucleation and growth. Medium-range ordering domains were observed in the as-quenched amorphous specimen and developed further before the onset of crystallization reaction. In the nucleation and growth stage, the enrichment of Zr atoms at the interface of α-Fe/amorphous matrix was observed, which suggests that the growth of α-Fe grain was controlled by the diffusion of Zr atoms.
