Study of spin-isospin excitations in 11Be via the (d,2He) reaction at 270 MeV

The differential cross sections and the analyzing powers, Ay, Ayy, and Axx, for the 11B(d,2He)11Be reaction at Ed = 270 MeV have been measured. The Gamow-Teller (GT) transition and the spin- and isospin-flip dipole (SFD) transition are assigned by the DWBA analysis. Especially, a new peak at 8.2 MeV which is considered as the GT transition is found. Furthermore, new bumps at 11.6 and 13.2 MeV with ΔL, = 1 character are also observed. From the shell model calculation, the Cohen-Kurath interaction reproduces the experimental B(GT) values. As for the B(SFD) values, the B(SFD) including the halo effects is close to the experimental values. The experimental excitation energy distribution of the B(SFD) is reproduced by the calculation including the halo effects.
