Abstract
It was found that a cast Ti-Cu-Ni-Mo-Fe multicomponent alloy exhibited high strength and large elongation. The yield strength (σ0.2) and plastic elongation of the Ti52Cu23Ni11Fe 7Mo7 cast alloy with a diameter of 3 mm are 1250 MPa and 22 %, respectively, under a compressive stress. The main phase of this alloy is a TiNi compound phase with dendrite morphology. The large elongation of the Ti52Cu23Ni11Fe7Mo7 cast alloy is attributed to the combined effect of the ductility of a TiNi phase and the large plastic deformation ability of grain-boundary.
