We synthesized ill-crystallized Ti1 - xBx(0.5 ≤ x ≤ 0.8) ceramic films by the co-sputter coating method and investigated their structural changes by neutron irradiation damage in the water cooled thermal reactor JMTR, up to the fast (> 0.1 MeV) and thermal (< 0.683 eV) neutron fluence of 7.7 × 1024 and 1 × 1025 n/m2, respectively. X-ray diffractometry revealed that the irradiated Ti1 - xBx had a higher degree of crystallization than the unirradiated one, when they were ill-crystallized in as-synthesized conditions. It is believed that radiation damage due to (n, α) reaction and helium generated from the reaction have substantial effects on the observed structural changes.
