Abstract
The Nd50Fe40Si10 amorphous ribbons with thicknesses up to 80 μm prepared by melt-spinning method exhibit good hard magnetic properties at room temperature. The improvement of the hard magnetic properties was obtained by increasing the thickness of the amorphous ribbons or by applying proper thermal treatments. The hard magnetic properties of the Nd50Fe40Si10 amorphous alloy are related to the existence of the ferromagnetic clusters in the amorphous matrix.
