Abstract
We have observed ultraviolet lasing of CuCl quantum dots embedded in a NaCl single crystalline matrix. Stable ultraviolet lasing of biexciton (two e-h pairs) luminescence has been achieved below 70 K under the two-photon direct excitation of biexcitons of CuCl quantum dots. Laser action occurs with parallely cleaved surfaces of the NaCl crystalline matrix acting as an optical cavity, which shows a very high efficiency of lasing.
