Spin relaxation in quantum wire

Abstract

The spin relaxation length is calculated numerically in quantum wires with strong spin-orbit interaction. The spin relaxation is perfectly suppressed in a quantum wire with a single channel and becomes important with the increases of the width or the channel number. The width dependence is much stronger than the result of classical simulations.
