Abstract
A discussion on the substitutional element effect on the anti-invar behavior in Y6(Mn1-xAlx)23 compounds within the framework of spin fluctuations was presented. The difference caused by spin fluctuations between the anti-invar behavior in Y6(Mn1-xAlx)23 and Y6(Mn1-xFex)23 was attributed to 3d itinerant-electron perturbing the band structure. The results showed confirmation of the formation of compounds below x = 0.05, and a significant increase of the thermal expansion coefficient α above the Curie temperature.
