Abstract
The bit error rate (BER) performance of spectrum-sliced wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) access influenced by adjacent crosstalk was estimated and the optimum spectral width was derived. The BER was measured using 25-GHz spaced, 15-GHz wide 155-Mbps×32-channel transmission through a 50-km dispersion shifted fiber (DSF). Results showed good agreement with the calculated results.
