Abstract

The cyclic olefin-polymer coated silver hollow glass waveguides were employed for the transmission of a near and middle infrared YAG laser radiation. The near infrared radiation was generated by a Nd:YAG laser system assembled from an oscillator, single pulse selector and three amplifiers. The measurements of maximum delivered energy for laser pulses established the application of waveguides in ophthalmology, cardiology and medical laser applications.
