N2 - Antenna diversity is an effective technique for improving the transmission performance in a multi-path fading channel. Recently, we proposed the space-time block coded-joint transmit/receive antenna diversity (STBC-JTRD), which allows the use of an arbitrary number of transmit antennas without sacrificing the coding rate. However, in STBC-JTRD, the number of receive antennas is limited to 4. In this paper, we show the STBC-JTRD encoding allowing the use of more than 5 receive antennas. The bit error rate (BER) analysis in a frequency- nonselective Rayleigh fading channel is presented. The BER performance analysis is confirmed by computer simulation.
