Abstract

We succeeded in automation of removal of the zona pellucida of swine oocyte using magnetically driven microtool (MMT) in microfluidic chip. The proposed system can manipulate multiple oocytes at one time with high stability which has an strong advantages over the conventional manual manipulation of removal one by one with pipetting. We proposed the automation of removal of zona pellucida by activating soft polymeric materials in a disposable microfluidic chip to achieve mass production of manipulated embryos as well as accurate and stable manipulations. It can be a breakthrough of a high throughput of accurate and effective oocyte manipulations in the field of cloning and fertility treatment.
