Abstract
Crystalline clusters of Bi with the diameter ranging from 70 to 6nm were prepared by in situ evaporation on to an amorphous substrate of SiO in a transmission electron microscope. These. Bi clusters were then heated to get molten and the behaviour of the Bi liquid clusters observed in situ in a transmission electron microscope. It was found that the contact angle of a liquid Bi cluster decreases with decreasing the size of the liquid cluster below 7nm.
