N2 - We have successfully grown single crystals of CeAu2 Si2 with the Neel temperature of 8.1 K. The magnetic properties are very anisotropic in the antiferromagnetic state as well as in the paramagnetic state. When a field is applied parallel to the c-axis, the single crystal exhibits a sharp metamagnetic transition of first order at 4.2 T, while the magnetization increases almost linearly with fields parallel to the a-axis.
