Abstract
The silylene to dlsllene rearrangement was further confirmed by generating Me3SIMe2SIMeSI: from 3-methoxyundecamethylpentasilane to afford Me2Si= SIMe(SiMe3). However, at the same time the reverse rearrangement from the latter dlsllene to the former dl-sllanylsilylene was also demonstrated by generating Me2Si=SiMe(SiMe3). Results of photochemically generated disilanylsilylene and silyldisilene were compared with those of thermal reactions.
