Abstract

Shock-loading effects on the superconducting and ferromagnetic transitions of ErRh4B4 are reported for the pressure range up to 90 GPa. The superconducting transition temperature Tcl decreases with increasing shock-pressure, whereas the ferromagnetic transition temperature Tc2 increases. The pressure effect is discussed in terms of the residual strain by shock-loading.
