Sensitivity minimization of digital controllers via frequency-weighted balancing

Abstract

The analysis and minimization of the coefficient sensitivity of digital controllers which are represented by state equations are conducted. The frequency-independent sensitivity of controllers is represented by the frequency-weighted controllability Gramian and the frequency-weighted observability Gramian of controllers. The minimum sensitivity controller is synthesized by using an equivalent transformation matrix. The sensitivity of a controller is minimum if it has the frequency-weighted balanced realization with scalar scaling.
