Self-excited vibration occurring in pulsation flow in collapsible tube

Abstract

Numerical analysis is carried for a pulsating flow in a collapsible tube induced by a sinusoidal pressure at the upstream supply reservoir. The effect of pulsating flow on the self-excited vibration is investigated. The vibration is amplified during the decreasing phase of the supply pressure. The frequency varies beyond the range expected from the result of constant supply pressure.
