N2 - We report microcapsular structures constructed by self-assembly of only DNA nanoplates at the water-oil interface. The microcapsules were composed of amphiphilic Janus hexagonal DNA-origami nanoplates with hydrophobic one side without any supporting membrane as a scaffold. Using a confocal laser scanning microscope, we observed that the amphiphilic DNA nanoplates assembled at the water-oil interface, followed by capsular formation. We believe that this material will be useful to construct a model system for a living cell whose function is based on biochemical reactions.
