Abstract
We disclose that the viscosity of a polymerizable diacrylate monomer confined in a nano-gap between acryloyloxy-terminated monolayer surfaces exhibited exponential increase at a longer distance than that between methacryloyloxy-terminated surfaces owing to homology of chemical structure causing strong molecular interactions. These reactive monolayers showed the increase at significantly longer distances than silica surfaces modified with antisticking fluorinated chemisorbed monolayers used for UV nanoimprinting as well as unmodified silica surfaces.
