Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

This paper deals with formation of a sand terrace in front of Tuni River mouth, Bolivia, during a flush flood. Atfirst, depositional pattern in Lake Tuni is introduced based on photographs. Next, results from laboratory experiments areintroduced and the relationship between the shape of sand terrace and the characteristics of river flow is discussed. On the basis of these experimental results, a simple method to predict sand terrace profile is proposed.
