Abstract
Scattering phenomena among traveling pulses are studied. When two traveling pulses collide with nonsmall velocity, they are deformed a lot and it is, in general, very difficult to describe the detailed process and to reduce to a finite-dimensional dynamics. A viewpoint from separators is proposed and illustrated using the Gray-Scott model and three-component model system arising in a gas-discharge phenomenon.
