Abstract
A solution to check a SAN implementation against design and configuration rules and principles defined in different areas such as zoning, port configurations, routing, alerts thresholds and any SAN parameters that are configured is introduced. The scheme consists of a configuration gatherer and the rules check engine itself. The former captures the configuration elements that are relevant and subject to the rules enforced. The latter checks the gathered information against the rules and principles that the SAN should follow.
