Abstract
The ridge direction of thermal conductivity contours in ternary CoAl phase for various ternary elements were examined. Two types of solid solutions, in which a dilute amount of ternary element is added for intermetallic compound, were used to determine the rigid direction. Arc-melting in high-purity in an atmosphere of purified argon was used to prepare all alloys. Thermal conductivity was measured at 300 K by employing the laserflash method.
