Abstract
Interdiffusion coefficients of the A2- and B2-type Fe-Al intermetallics were determined at 1073 and 1273 K from solid-solid diffusion couples by using the modified Boltzmann-Matano method. The atomic mobilities for the two phases were reassessed in terms of phenomenological treatment, which permits prediction of interesting diffusion details, such as the effect of chemical ordering on diffusion, the Al tracer diffusivity and the Kirkendall shift.
