Resonant photoemission studies of mixed-valence Sm3Se4

Abstract

Ultraviolet photoemission spectra measured with synchrotron radiation revealed the valence mixing in Sm3Se4. The correlation energies U(4f, 4f), U(5p, 4f) and U(4d, 4f) are evaluated. The photon energy dependence of the photoemission c ross section elucidated the negligible hybridization of Se 4p states with Sm 4f states.
