Abstract

We have investigated the resonant luminescence spectra of CuCl quantum dots in NaCl and glass matrices. Stokes and anti-Stokes bands appearing at both sides of the zero-phonon line are attributed to the confined acoustic phonons of the quantum dots. The very sharp homogeneous linewidth of the zero-phonon line indicates very long phase relaxation time of the confined excitons. The temperature dependence of the linewidth revealed that the phase relaxation mechanism is mainly attributed to the two-phonon Raman process.
