Residual life estimation for long-term used power boiler tubes

Abstract

Residual life for long-term used power boiler tube are usually estimated from the rupture times in the creep rupture tests with the specimens cut out from the actual component. In this study, a series of creep test was conducted for the 2.25Cr-1Mo steel boiler tube used for 195,000h. Residual life was estimated by the time- temperature parameter method such as LMP, OSDP, MHP, the iso-stress method and the Omega method. Accuracy of residual life estimation was discussed among these estimation methods.
