Remote and non-contact extraction techniques of autonomic nervous system indices and blood pressure variabilities from video images

Abstract

In order to evaluate human stress in watching TVs or using VR systems, it is desirable that autonomic nervous system indices and blood pressure variabilities can be extracted in a remote and non-contact fashion without any additional burdens on users. We have developed such a system by extracting video pulse waves using an ordinary video camera. The performance of the automatic functions for separation of the face and hand and tracking of the face to extract physiological parameters which correlate with blood pressure was evaluated by experiments.
