Abstract

This paper summarizes various international regulations and standards for indoor air environment (IAE) in schools to determine the optimum conditions for children and management strategies for teachers. We discuss the ideal IAE conditions in schools to publish a practical manual for both heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) engineers and school teachers. More detailed information of the regulations from each country are required to complete this study, but it is clear that a practical manual for teachers, which is easy to understand and implement to ensure a good IAE, is urgently required.
