Abstract
Reduction experiments of three kinds of natural ilmenite ores with carbon monoxide were carried out in the temperature range between 1173 and 1323 K to clarify the kinetics and mechanism in reduction. The reduction rate was analyzed in terms of the mixed-control kinetics by applying the isothermal shrinking unreacted-core model, on the basis of the observation of cross section of partially reduced ilmenite and X-ray diffraction patterns. The resulting data was analyzed in detail.
