A tridimensional mathematical model of the blast furnace has been used in order to determine the technical viability of the gaseous product injection into the blast furnace shaft. The model is based on the simultaneous solution of the transport equations for all phases present in the blast furnace coupled with detailed chemical kinetics of the several reactions taking place simultaneously within the reactor.
