Red-emissive Mn-doped Li2Ge4O9phase synthesized via glass-ceramic route

We synthesized the lithium-tetragermanate (Li2Ge4O9) phase doped with Mn4+by glass-ceramics technique using the stoichiometric glass-precursor with different MnO2concentrations, i.e., 20Li2O-80GeO2-xMnO2(x = 0.10.7), and examined their photoluminescent property. The doped phase showed clear red-emission at room temperature, and the internal quantum-yield was found to be approximately 40% in the samples with x = 0.1-0.3.
