Recrystallization-etch observation of plastic deformation caused by cavitation shotless peening

Abstract

The recrystallization-etch observation of plastic deformation caused by cavitation shotless peening (CSP) was presented. The microstructure was charaterized by using optical microscopy. It was found that greater the degree of plastic deformation, the larger the number of recrystallization grains. CSP was used to introduce plastic deformation in aluminum, thus improving the fatigue strength.
