Real-time satellite data transfer system for Siberian NOAA image database

Abstract

Tohoku University (TU) in Sendai Japan and the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science (SBRAS) in Novosibirsk Russia are jointly co-work study of academic exchange program. The one of main theme is to construct the infrastructure because there is about 5,000 km distance between them. The mainly system are communication satellite network and NOAA station built in Siberia. The received NOAA data are transferred to TU by this system on real-time. We report the current condition of the data transfer for NOAA AVHRR which received at Novosibirsk Russia.
