Abstract

We demonstrate the first real-time 80 Gbit/s, 256 QAM bi-directional coherent transmission using an FPGA-based transceiver in next-generation mobile fronthaul. We achieved error-free operations with 14 % overhead FEC for 26 km down-link (on-line) and up-link (off-line) transmissions, simultaneously.
