Abstract

The reduction rate of liquid wustite in contact with solid iron with an inert gas (N//2, Ar or He)-hydrogen mixture was measured at 1400, 1450 degree C. The rate depended on the gas flow rate and was controlled by both mass transfer in the gas phase and a chemical reaction at the interface.
