Raman scattering by orbital waves in perovskite LaMnO3

Abstract

Magnon Raman scattering is proposed as a possible method to observe the orbital ordering in the perovskite LaMnO3. Calculated results of the peak positions of the spectra in a semi-classical method show an anisotropic feature of the spectra.
