Quantum interference and diffraction of parametric down-converted biphotons

Abstract

An investigation of two-photon diffraction and interference utilizing parametric down-converted photon pairs and transmission grating was presented. The diffraction-interference pattern of the biphotons were also discussed in comparison with that of classical light. The results showed that the biphoton exhibited a diffraction-interference pattern equivalent to an effective single particle with half wavelength of the constituent photons.
