Q margin comparison of RZ and Nyquist optical pulses in ultrahigh-speed TDM transmission

Abstract

Dispersion and nonlinear tolerances are analytically and numerically compared with RZ and Nyquist optical pulses. Nyquist TDM transmission has a substantially larger Q margin as regards both dispersion and power due to ISI-free overlapped TDM.
