Abstract

Multichannel functional electrical stimulation (FES) is very efficient for the restoration of the paralyzed upper extremities. The authors outline a master-slave-type multichannel FES system that can handle 48 channel outputs. Circuit design of the miniaturization of the multichannel FES system is presented. RF coupling is utilized for energy/command transmission in this circuit.
