Abstract
The use of C60 anions as propellants for an ion (micro)engine is proposed for the first time. The present proposal originates from both the experimental data so far accumulated by research chemists about the stability of fullerene anions in the gas-phase as well as on a series of molecular orbital calculations performed by the author on both singly and multiply charged C60 specie.
