Promoting effect of Pd addition to Ni 0.2Mg 0.8Al 2O 4 in oxidative steam reforming of methane

Abstract

Addition of Pd to Ni 0.2Mg 0.8Al 2O 4 promoted oxidative steam reforming of methane, and it gave high activity under high partial pressure of steam and low W/F, where Ni 0.2Mg 0.8Al 2O 4 showed very low activity. The Ni 0.2Mg 0.8Al 2O 4 requires the H 2 reduction pretreatment; however, Pd/Ni 0.2Mg 0.8Al 2O 4 can be activated automatically by the reactant gases of oxidative reforming of methane.
