Primary structure of fin whale prolactin

    Abstract

    The primary structure of prolactin from fin whale pituitary has been elucidated. It consists of 199 amino acid residues with three disulfide bridges formed by residues 6–11, 58–174 and 191–199. The fin whale prolactin is highly homologous with other mammalian prolactins, especially with the porcine hormone.
