Abstract
The resonance frequency for a photothermal vibration of a thin circular glass plate was measured in the pressure region from 103 to 10-2 Pa. Due to the pressure dependence of the thermal conductivity of gases, the resonance frequency decreased monotonously in the pressure region below 102 Pa. The magnitude of this shift depended on the kind of gas and on laser power.
