Abstract
Shape-selective silico-alumino-phosphates, SAPO-34 and SAPO-17, having the chabazite and erionite structure, respectively, were prepared within 4 h of hydrothermal treatment by the rapid crystallization method we have developed. They are highly effective for the selective conversion of methanol to light olefins, such as ethene, propene and butenes. It is shown that these SAPOs are more weakly acidic than typical H-ZSM-5 but more strongly acidic than H-Fe-silicates.
