Abstract

We have reported that nano-particles were prepared by mixing a poor solvent (i.e., water) into the solution of homopolymers, and then evaporation of a good solvent (i.e., tetrahydrofuran). Here, we show the preparation of nano-particles consisted of two different homopolymers. Equal amount mixture of Pip and PS or Pip and PMMA were dissolved in THF, and then water was added. After the particles were strained by OsO4, inner structures of particles were observed by scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM). In the case of Pip and PS, each component was clearly separated as hemisphere. On the other hand, PMMA shell was formed in the case of PIp and PMMA.
