Abstract
Graphite sheets have been synthesized by using hexachlorobutadiene (C 4Cl6) and Na as reactants at 500°C in an autoclave. Transmission electron microscopy images show that the average dimension of graphite sheets is about 8×15 μm and the thickness ranges 20-50 nm. The possible reaction mechanism is discussed.
