Preparation of FeIn2S4 nanoparticles in supercritical water

Abstract

Crystalline FeIn2S4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by a simple and one-step way, using thioacetamide (TAA), trichloride iron and tetrachloride indium as raw materials, supercritical water as reaction medium. The products were characterized by powder X-ray diffraction (XRD), field-emission scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The XRD results show that the obtained FeIn2S4 had cubic structure and a face-centered lattice. The microscopy images show that the synthesized FeIn2S4 particles were in sheet shape and exhibited weak agglomeration with the size ranging from 50 nm to 100 nm.
